Hollywood Style Ravello Wedding

I first met Francesca & Gordon in Sydney when they were in the early stages of considering an Italian wedding celebration. We soon settled on Ravello for their wedding day. It is a town perched above Amalfi with unforgettable panoramic terraces overlooking the Amalfi Coastline. They wanted a venue that would provide high level catering and stunning views, whilst also being pretty. Hotel Caruso, a former Palace, with beautiful Olive Gardens and an infinity pool, was their perfect match. The brief for the flower decor was to keep it fresh, white and abundant. They had accents of blue on the table with personalised menus designed by The Little Press, which complimented the other stationery set up round the venue.

The Bride got ready at the Hotel with her sister and her Mum. Fran had her dress custom designed by Steven Khalil ~ it was simply stunning. Her bouquet was elegant and full, tied with velvet ribbon.

The morning started with a surprise for the Groom – a luxury Mercedes convertible was delivered to his hotel in Amalfi. A present from his Bride to be. He travelled to Caruso in style and prepared for the day with his best men and groomsmen.

The ceremony was led by Nicola Juliet Ceremonies, who had designed a script, which left the guests reaching for their tissues! A carpet of natural rose petals led the way to a bespoke floral arch created by the talented Armando Malafronte, under which the couple said their vows.

The cocktail hour was held in the open gardens at the end, which is a great spot for big group photos …and a confetti throw! Meanwhile dinner took place in the middle olive garden, with hanging baubles framing the trees and fresh white florals on all the tables. The mis-en-place was completed with an olive sprig on the napkins, personalised menus and Pastiglie Leone favours.

The Bride and Groom then delighted the guests further with the after party at the infinity pool. The wedding cake was cut by the pool’s edge making for great photos, captured by the talented Gianni Di Natale. The after party opened with an interactive sax and DJ duo to engage the guests and get the party going.

I loved planning Fran & Gordon’s special day and getting to know them as a couple. It was a true pleasure to have clients based in Sydney (my home town out of season) and meet them every few months to talk through all the details for the day. Seeing them get married and enjoy all the elements we had spoken about, was one of my happiest & most satisfying moments of the season. I am pleased to now call them friends.
